Call for Audio Engineers
Ayrshire Recording Services is looking for volunteer readers to contribute to our talking newspapers. With modern technology, you can record from home, adding your voice to our content.
We are seeking individuals with a clear, pleasant speaking voice who enjoy reading aloud. Ideal candidates will feel comfortable infusing their readings with personality and colour to engage our listeners. This role requires a weekly commitment, and while a background in journalism or radio is advantageous, it is not mandatory. We are continuously seeking more readers to help expand our offerings as new newspaper additions become available.
Audio Engineers: We urgently need volunteers with expertise in audio engineering (e.g., Audacity, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365) to work on our audio digital recording system for our Talking Newspapers Service for the visually impaired. Volunteer audio engineers will help us maintain and keep this vital recording equipment in good working order.
Commitment: We require just a few hours of your time each week.
Training: Comprehensive training on our computer systems and procedures will be provided to all new volunteers.
